Africa Fire Mission reaches thousands of people all around the world. From face-to-face instruction in Africa to our weekly online trainings, our impact is possible thanks to the generous support of our volunteers, instructors, and partners.

Our partners are key to providing gear, volunteers, and logistical support to those we serve. We are so grateful for all the support we receive and would like to recognize a partner organization through our annual Mission Partner Award! This award recognizes a partner organization that makes significant contributions to AFM and, in turn, makes a substantial impact on the people that AFM serves.

On October 11th, 2025, Africa Fire Mission will honor Metzcor at our annual fundraising event, the Chama.

2025 MISSION PARTNER

Africa Fire Mission partners with organizations around the world to provide support to the fire service in Africa. These partnerships allow us to create new strategies in fire safety advocacy, gear distribution, and fire prevention training. Through collaboration, AFM and our partners can empower more communities and increase our impact!

Metzcor - 2025 Mission Partner

Metzcor is located in Cincinnati, OH and provides services to local individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Their multi-faceted organization provides adult disability day services with a focus on empowerment. Individuals gain independent living and employment skills, medical support, and the opportunity to belong to an amazing community.

In 2021, AFM co-founders Dave and Nancy Moore were introduced to Michael and Ashleigh Metz, the co-founders and owners of Metzcor. Since then, our organizations have seen tremendous growth and support each other through unique collaborative activities. One example of our collaboration is through volunteer events. Individuals from Metzcor’s day program join AFM team members in a variety of on-campus volunteer opportunities, providing individuals a unique way to learn more about AFM and fire safety while gaining a strong sense of accomplishment through helping our partners around the world.

One of the pillars of AFM’s mission is empowerment. Through our training, gear deliveries, and other work, we empower firefighters across Africa to protect their communities and prevent life-threatening emergencies. Similarly, Metzcor’s mission is rooted in empowerment for those they serve! Our organizations are rooted in similar philosophies that allow us to have a deep understanding of how we can serve local and international communities.

Together, we create a comprehensive support system that enhances community resilience and safety, making a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve!
